Hey, i was away from town for a couple of weeks now. I was with my family in Moldova, a region of Romania very well known for it`s monasteries and with a very high cultural importance.
I saw lots of monasteries, including Voronet(which is part of the global patrimony because of the blue on its walls that cannot be restored), Moldovita, Sucevita, etc and they were all SO beautiful!
I came home with a whole new idea about my country. Until now i beleived it`s a ruined and destroyed teritory(especially Moldova, mostly because it is set in the eastern part of the country, a very poor region) but this trip showed me what a beautiful country i have! All those buildings that i saw, all the landscapes, everything is SO beautiful, everything is so precious that i have no words. My country rocks.
Moldova is... part of a dream. I was walking the streets and i remembered the words of Ion Creanga, a famous romanian writer, about his village. About a hundred years have passed since his death, but i felt that nothing, absolutely nothing has changed! People are still the same, they keep our traditions alive: they gather around every evening and sing, dance, they tell all kind of stories and stay together until late at night. They live their life like there is no such thing like politics, global disasters, malls, shopping days, etc. When you enter Moldova you leave behind everything that you are used with: everyday`s noise, cars and sometimes even TVs and cellphones. It is a dream-world, a region that didn`t want to keep up with the fast world that i am living in. They live surounded by lots, and i mean LOTS of trees and all kind of plants, in small but cosy houses which were built years ago by their parents or sometimes even by their grandparents. They beleive in God more than anyone else could and they have a very funny accent.
Somehow it`s very sad that there are still people in this country that don`t even have a good bathroom, but i guess that`s the magic of this place: here, time forgot to pass.
The main reason why we went on this trip was to meet our looooong lost relatives, people that are my cousins, uncles, aunts and that i, personally, have never seen before(they saw me after i was given birth, or something like that). So, the words that dominated this whole excursion were: "Doamne ce`ati mai crescut!!!" ("Oh, my God!! Look how much you have grown up!". I was like: "d`oooh, you last saw me like... 15 years ago? yeah, i grew up a bit...".
I don`t have so much photos to upload and i`m pretty sad about that. But everything that i have will be uploaded these days, promise!
